Surprise Trip To California

Guess what?! I flew down to California this weekend to surprise my mom! We've been having a GREAT time and I can't wait to share my trip with you! Don't you love this view? Can you spot the Griffith Observatory? Or the Hollywood sign?

I fly back tonight and then I can upload all of my OTHER fun pictures!

Silly Card- Ribbon Embroidery

I took the tips out of my favorite book to make this card.

Its not the cutest thing but I've been wanting to try this technique out for a while. I'm thinking about trying it out an a shirt soon- any thoughts? would you be interested in that? Leave a comment por favor ;)

Box Of Sunshine

So remember when I moved all randomly and didn't post for forever? Well that was a really tough week. A REALLY tough week..... Anyway I just have to say how amazing my sister is. She quickly whipped up a "Box of Sunshine" for me and found a friend traveling to Rexburg that week to deliver it to me! It automatically made me feel so much better and helped bring me peace when all I felt like doing the moment before was pull out my own hair. I am so lucky to have the best Mom and sister that constantly let my know how much they love me even though we live so far away from one another!

How cool is this!? Lyndsey, my sister, cut egg shapes out of paint swatches and then sewed them together! I LOVE it! I know Easter is over but if you are in need of a cheap decoration for next year try this out! =)

Music For My Mama Printable

Mothers day is coming up- Have you figured out YOUR gift yet?

I have been hard at work on my mom's gift! She made it easy on my this year by requesting her gift. My mom said that she went to update her Ipod the other day and realized that she REALLY needs to update her music collection but hasn't been paying attention to new music out there to know what to buy. She requested a list of about 30 songs of different genres so that she can later go onto Itunes and buy them for herself. I have compiled my list but felt like I needed to give her something more. So I decided that I would make her a mix CD of the songs I already own, that are on the list so she doesn't have to buy all of them. So of course I had to make her an awesome CD case to put it in! AND I decided to share it with all of you in case (no pun intened) you want to send a Mix CD to YOUR MOM.

My Mom is awesome. period. But I bet you all think that about your mom huh? One more reason why my mom rocks is the gift she got the family this year for Christmas. She gave everyone their own deck of personalized playing cards! She got them from a great personalization company called Heritage Makers. The company offers a wide variety of gifts and ideas- check them out.

My mom ALSO rocks because she is beginning her journey into the blogging world as well! The Midlife Guru- making the most of life after 50 is my mom's new pet project helping other women get excited about "the other side of the hill." (Its also pretty cool because I designed/set up her page)
