Up Up and AWAY!!

So for many of you who do not know Jesse is taking flying lessons! For reals! After a lot of thought and prayer he feels that he should be a pilot for the United states Air Force. We haven't joined yet but have decided to do so by the end of the year. He will join as an officer because of his bachelors degree and then he will apply for their pilot program, which is why he is getting his pilots license now. Through our research we found out that he nees some general pilot knowledge to do well on a test he must take to apply to the program. He has already completed about 16 hours of flight so far and will begin his solo flying in about a week.  A few weeks ago I went up with him for the first time. I was kind of scared because I had never flown in a private plane before and they are VERY different than commercial jets I'm used to! I loved watching him in action though! I can tell he is going to be a great pilot!

Coming in for a landing!

Nice view of the snake river.

INTERESTING!! WoW! My friend is married to a pilot. He was in air force and now flies for United airlines. Got to do lot more tricks in the government planes.

P.S. My kids ALWAYS ask why Rachel can't just come a babysit. They miss you like crazy.

Wow! That sounds like so much fun! I've always wanted to fly a plane . . . .
Good luck with all the preparations and what-not for getting into the Air Force. I'm sure that will lots of fun for you both!
PS - I love your face at the end of your video!

WOW!!! That's quite a career change. It's amazing how the Lord leads us to places we never thought we would be, doing things we never thought we would do.

I've thought it would be fun to have a small plane and fly... you could go anywhere to eat (: Texas Toast, NY Pizza, etc.

That's awesome! Is he applying for the Air Force Academy because you know we live like just down the street from the school! That would be so cool.
