First attempt- Flop!

So this last weekend Jesse and I had a BBQ at our house with 3 other newly married couples that are friends of ours. It was a good thing we didn't have anybody else show up because it decided to pour rain all day that day, forcing us to move our BBQ inside! It was still super fun though!! Anyways I used this opportunity to finally bake some CUPCAKES!!! I decided to make Red Velvet ones because I haven't had red velvet cake in forever and if fit my mood.

It wasn't a very good presentation of my baking ability to our friends- I baked them a little too long because they were a little dry and crusty, plus I ran out of powder sugar when making the cream cheese frosting so it was pretty strong (not to mention runny!!). I don't want to make them again and get it right- I'd rather just move on........

I didn't realize that I had chosen a red bowl to mix my batter in! I found it pretty funny that they actually became the same color!! I didn't even try to do it- I just followed the recipe! =)
