20 years ago (March 1988) I was only a couple of weeks old (I was born on March 6, 1988)!!!!! I was most likely getting used to.......well- life!!!! what can else can I say?
10 years age (March 1998) I just turned ten. I was a crazy tom-boy fifth grader that tried to show my toughness by chasing my friends who were boys around the playground and kicking them with my super cool black-leather boots. when I wasn't busy doing this I was usually sitting around drawing on roxy and quicksilver signs on myself with those cool gel pens with my girl friends. I also suffered from a massive over bit that I was completely oblivious to.
5 years ago (March 2003) I was getting close to the end of my freshmen year of high school. I felt on top of the world! I had a great new group of friends, but still hung out with my old ones from Jr. high. I had just survived my first season of water polo were I found out (almost toward the end) that I wasn't completely helpless in the game but that I actually had a hidden talent for being a goalie!! I was also in the third year of wearing my braces (I had to serve 4 years in all) and that is why my toothy grin is absent in most pictures of me during this time. I also had long hair for the first time in my life but in a few months while in a spontaneous mood I will decide to chop it all off. At that time I thought I had AGES till I graduated but that didn't bother me, I was happy with the way my life was going.
3 years ago (March 2005) was during my Junior year of high school. I had just ended the hardest part of my academic career so far. I was taking two AP classes, did two-a-day practices for polo, and take home seminary (that all means I was at school for 12 hours a day and was only getting about 5-4 hours of sleep). but by this time in the year I had weathered the storm well and I was just studying for my AP tests and college acceptances were looming in the air. I was in and out of quite a few relationships and was yes.......an emo kid. Oh and did I mention it was around this time that I discovered watermelon flavored Sour Patch Kids? they are AMAZING and I lived off those suckers for a couple of months.
1 year ago (March 2007) I was finishing up a spectacular freshmen year at Brigham Young University- Idaho. I was a crazy freshman, staying up till 3 or 4 in the morning, having in-door water fights, and taking naps whenever and for however long I wanted. I had a very serious boyfriend who was called to the Mozambique, Maputo mission, and I was planning on waiting for him the full two years!! life was easy, simple, and I had learned a lot about myself in my small time at school.
So Far This Year (2008) I went and got swept off my feet an amazing, spontaneous, inspiring, intelligent, and down-to-earth boy named Jesse Leo Holdaway. He ended up asking me to marry him and of course I said yes! I've been in the middle of planning our wedding and trying to finish this semester with some some-what decent grades ever since.
Yesterday- was sunday- my FAVORITE!!!!! I slept in, relaxed, and studied all the stuff you should study on sundays =) Jesse and I had dinner with Kodi and Rachel (Kodi is Jesse's brother and Rachel is his wife.......yes- after we are married there will be two Rachel Holdaways in the family). it was great because we also got to spend time with Journey and Cage, Jesse's neice and nephew. I also got all my Visiting Teaching done for the month!
Today- I got up early and studied for a test, cleaned, and went to class. For FHE three groups got together and played "capture the flag" in the Benson building. I'm sure going to miss stuff like that when we have to move into a married ward. the only bad part is I'm totally wiped out and am using it as a completely legitimate reason not to do homework.
Tomorrow- I have a quiz and two art projects due. I think I'm going to just go to bed and get up even earlier tomorrow and do it all. Then its homework homework homework!! thats all my life consist of these days. I am SO ready for the break!
This Year- well for one I can't wait to actually GET MARRIED!!!! and all the fun things before and after that go on with that sort of thing. I can't wait to just get used to married life or juggling more of life's responsibilities (aka jobs, family, school). I can't wait for all the amazing things I'll learn about design and hopefully apply for my BFA (scarry!!!!!). I pretty much up for whatever is ahead of me, I'll play it by ear and with a smile!!!
